Carbide is employed as the raw material of dissolved acetylene used mainly in the welding and cutting of metals. It is also used as a desulfurization agent for iron manufacture and cast iron.

Kochi Prefecture has served as a major producing center for Tosa lime since the Edo period (1603 to 1868) because it is blessed with good limestone that contains few impurities. We pride ourselves on taking advantage of local resources and contributing to the community.
